<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic trimming method capable of efficiently performing trimming by efficiently polishing a cutter blade for cutting a workpiece while being ultrasonically vibrated. <P>SOLUTION: The flat plate-shaped cutter blade 24 supported on an arm 16 at a distal end of an articulated robot 12 forming an ultrasonic trimming device 10 via an ultrasonic oscillator 26 is driven by the arm 16 to cut the workpiece 40 fixed to a workpiece fixing part, while being ultrasonically vibrated. In the middle of the cutting work, a plane including a cutting edge is made to have an attitude in contact with a polishing member 30 with the cutter blade 24 mounted in the articulated robot 12 in relation to the polishing member 30 disposed in a movable range of the cutter blade 24 driven by the articulated robot 12.
