<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a series multiplexed power conversion device which, while restricting increase in device size, can continue operation even when a unit power converter breaks down. <P>SOLUTION: A series multiplexed power conversion device 10 comprises: a power conversion unit 20 which includes a plurality of power converter series-connected assemblies SU, SV and SW composed of a plurality of unit power converters whose output sides respectively are connected in series and which respectively are connected at one end as phase output to loads and connected at the other end to neutral points, a single spare unit power converter SP whose output end on one side is connected to a neutral point, a first switching device which is adapted to bypass the output of a broken unit power converter when any of the unit power converters breaks down, and a second switching device which is adapted to connect the spare unit power converter to the series-connected configuration in place of a broken unit power converter when any of the unit power converters breaks down; and a control unit 22 which switches between the first and the second switching devices by outputting a switching signal to the respective devices. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
