PURPOSE: A hybrid construction machine is provided to prevent excessive charging currents by controlling charging when a condenser is initially charged. CONSTITUTION: A hybrid construction machine comprises a generator, an inverter, a condenser, and a converter. An engine powers the generator. The generator powered by the engine generates power. The inverter controls the generator. The condenser stores the generated power. The converter controls the voltage of a DC(direct current) bus installed between the generator and the condenser. When the condenser is initially charged, the inverter control of the generator is stopped.
