<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element using a dye which achieves high photoelectric conversion efficiency and is easily treated with an organic solvent. <P>SOLUTION: The dye is represented by the following formula (1). (In the formula (1), R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>represents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>represents an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.)
