<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit data efficiently by combining an adaptive modulation system with a multiple antenna diversity of a transmitter. <P>SOLUTION: A method for transmitting and receiving a signal to and from a receiver having at least one millimeter-wave antenna by a transmitter including many millimeter-wave antennas with different directivity, includes: transmitting to a receiver a reference value used for deciding the number of antennas that can be selected from many millimeter-wave antennas and whether or not a transmission antenna can be changed over, by means of multiple transmission antenna mode information; when a measured SNR of a received signal is smaller than the reference value included in the multiple transmission antenna mode information, selecting the millimeter-wave antenna having a different directivity from existing one by means of an antenna switching indicator provided from the receiver; and receiving a modulation mode index generated and transmitted by the receiver by using as an index a value of a region of a plurality of already-set regions, to which the measured SNR of the received signal belongs, and transmitting a signal in a modulation mode depending on a current channel status. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
