<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen which has a cap wherein a decorative pattern such as a character is expressed on the head of a shaft and there is no risk that the decorative pattern is damaged through rubbing by an inside surface of the cap even when attachment and detachment of the cap is repeated. <P>SOLUTION: The pen consists of the shaft 1 equipped with a nib part which has a decorative pattern expressing part 26, and the cap 11 fitted on the nib part. The cap 11 has an outer cylinder 13, and an inner cylinder 14 formed inside and shorter than the outer cylinder 13.
