LITHIUM ION SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery capable of being used at a higher voltage.

SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery 600 includes: a positive electrode 530 having a positive electrode active material 534A; a negative electrode 540 having a negative electrode active material 544A; a separator 550 arranged between the both electrodes; a positive electrode side electrolyte composition EC(an electrolyte gel 587) including a nonaqueous solvent and a supporting salt; and a negative electrode side electrolyte composition EA(an electrolyte 586) including a nonaqueous solvent and a supporting salt. The electrolyte gel 587 including the nonaqueous solvent and the supporting salt is arranged between the positive electrode 530 and the separator 550. An oxidation potential (to Li/Li+) of the nonaqueous solvent included in the electrolyte composition ECis higher than an oxidation potential (to Li/Li+) of the nonaqueous solvent included in the electrolyte composition EA.
