<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety apparatus for a passenger conveyor that can effectively alarm passengers when the passengers step on a side edge of steps and approach a skirt guard. <P>SOLUTION: The safety apparatus for the passenger conveyor includes: a plurality of steps that are coupled in a stepless state in a passenger conveyor body to be circularly driven; the skirt guard 5 that is provided in the passenger conveyor body along both sides of the steps; a step board edge 9 that is disposed in a protruding position that protrudes above a step surface in a normal state at the side edge in proximity of the skirt guard 5 of the step board 2a for forming the step surface of the step board, and provided to be vertically movable; a detection means 6 that detects that the step board side edge 9 moves below the protruding position and outputs a detection signal; and alarm means 7, 8 that give alarms to the passengers of the steps after receiving the detection signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
