<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a color shift correction method and a program that maintain color shift correction accuracy to execute a color shift correction, even when an entire pattern length region cannot be secured on an image carrier due to the existence of a noise source on the image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an intermediate transfer belt 16 to be conveyed; a noise position specification section 509 for specifying the position of the noise source on the intermediate transfer belt 16; a pattern formation section 501 which is means for forming a pattern for a color shift correction for every color in the intermediate transfer belt 16 and for forming the pattern to cover the specified noise source; a reflection type sensor 24 for detecting the pattern formed in the intermediate transfer belt 16; and a color shift correction section 503 for performing the color shift correction based on the detected patterns of each color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
