<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cruising range extension device capable of extending a cruising range efficiently by a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The range extender 1 includes a motor generator 30, an engine 20, a fuel storage section 40, and a fuel supply section. The motor generator 30 can charge a battery 10 when the amount of charge in the battery 10 runs short. The engine 20 drives the motor generator 30. The fuel storage section 40 stores fuel supplied to the engine 20. The fuel supply section supplies the fuel stored in the fuel storage section 40 to the engine 20. The fuel supply section supplies the fuel stored in the fuel storage section to the engine 20. The fuel supplied to the engine contains DME which is gaseous fuel.
