<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable image quality by preventing fixing failure at an energization rate of around 0% and around 100% when performing phase control on the energization of a heat source. <P>SOLUTION: When controlling a fixing device in a mode which requires a small power like an energization rate of around 0% such as paper-feed mode, a soft start is made by using a control system 2 in which the energization rate includes a soft start period. When controlling the fixing device in a mode which requires a large power like an energization rate of around 100% such as start-up mode, a soft start is made by using a control system 1 in which the energization rate is added with a soft start period. With this, a continuous value of actual output power is obtained with respect to the energization rate at either of low duty or high duty resulting in a precise temperature control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
