The technical field of the invention is that of vehicle suspensions and the invention especially relates to a device for assembling an axle body and to an associated method. To this end, according to one particular feature of the invention there is proposed an axle body (1) comprising: a cross member (2) defining a geometric reference axis ( ) and provided with at least one tubular end (3); and at least one end arm (4) extending in a longitudinal direction perpendicular to the reference axis ( ), the end arm (4) comprising an attachment interface (5) for fixing to the tubular end (3) of the cross member (2). The invention is characterized in that the attachment interface (5) is housed in the tubular end (3) and comprises at least one orifice (6) opening radially to the outside, and in that the axle body (1) comprises at least one means (7) for mechanically securing the cross member (2) to the end arm (4), penetrating the orifice (6) radially.
