PURPOSE: A cylindrical secondary battery is provided to prevent direct contact between electrode uncoated parts which are exposed using an electrode tape with excellent thermal resistance and insulation, thereby capable of preventing ignition due to short circuit. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical secondary battery comprises a jelly-roll type electrode assembly(510) in which an electrode tape is attached comprising a polymer resin film of which melt point, a center pin(550) inserted into the center part of the jelly-roll type assembly, a can accepting the electrode assembly and the center pin, a cap assembly(530) sealing the can by combining with the top opening part of the can, and a gasket(560) inserted between the can and the cap assembly.
