<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a management server side to specify a fault occurrence place and to suitably send a serviceman by performing suitable notification from an image formation apparatus to a management server even when a function associated with a function on a network is newly added to the image formation device. <P>SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 102 transmits information on an additional function to a management server 106 when the function associated with a function providing device 108 is added, and changes settings of fault monitoring under a sent-back monitoring condition. When a fault occurs and is caused by the function providing device, fault information indicating that the fault is caused by the function providing device is generated, but when it cannot be identified that the fault is caused by the function providing device, fault information associated with the fault is generated and transmitted to the management server. The management server 106 once receiving information on the additional function from the image formation apparatus sends back a monitoring condition corresponding to the additional function. Once the fault information is received from the image formation apparatus, arrangements for maintenance of the image formation apparatus are made.
