<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical fiber connector which is easy to assemble and has optical characteristics approximately equal to a normal optical fiber connector. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber connector includes a ferrule, a flange which holds the ferrule, and an optical fiber holding unit linked to a rear end of the flange, the flange internally comprises a space in which the optical fiber is deflected, and the optical fiber holding unit is structured to elastically hold a coating portion of the optical fiber. An optical fiber 59 which is cleaved after removing coating and tapered is inserted from the rear end of the optical fiber holding unit to the optical fiber connector, and in the state where a distal end of the optical fiber is abutted to a protrusion adjustment tool mounted in a distal end of the ferrule and is protruded just by an amount corresponding to the depth of a recess provided in the protrusion adjustment tool and in the state where the optical fiber 59 is deflected behind the optical fiber holding unit with a deflection length longer than a deflection length inside the space for deflection, the coating portion of the optical fiber is elastically held by the optical fiber holding unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
