<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of suppressing image defect. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises: a fixing belt; an induction current generating part; and a temperature-sensitive magnetic body. The fixing belt is a cylindrical belt including a conductive layer. The induction current generating part generates an induction current in the conductive layer. The temperature-sensitive magnetic body is disposed to oppose the induction current generating part with the fixing belt disposed therebetween. At a temperature higher than Curie temperature, a temperature range of the temperature-sensitive magnetic body in a temperature region where relative permeability of the temperature-sensitive magnetic body is lowered to be substantially zero in accordance with temperature increase of the temperature-sensitive magnetic body is not smaller than a difference between a temperature of the temperature-sensitive magnetic body in a steady state attained after a plurality of recording media with a smaller width than the fixing belt have passed through the fixing belt and a temperature of the fixing belt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
