<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front hood structure capable of effectively absorbing collision energy upon a collision from forward or upward. <P>SOLUTION: An automotive front hood is constituted by joining a hood skin to the top face of a hood frame 18. On the front top face of the hood frame 18, there is formed a shock absorbing member 29 projecting upward toward the bottom face of the hood skin. Cut portions 29i aligning on a virtual polygonal line 31 are formed at edges of openings 29h of a plurality of embossed sections 29g of the shock absorbing member 29. While the rigidity of the front hood required in a normal case is secured by a plurality of embossed sections 29g, ridges d, e, f of the shock absorbing member 29 are buckled longitudinally or crushed downward with bending deformation around the virtual polygonal line 31 of the shock absorbing member 29 as a trigger upon a collision of an obstacle against the front hood, thereby exhibiting an absorbing effect of collision energy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
