<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device that efficiently performs a cleaning mode and a moisture-retention mode of an inkjet head, and to provide an inkjet head maintenance method. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejection device has the inkjet head (172) having a liquid ejection surface (172A) for ejecting liquid, and a cleaning device (310) which imparts a cleaning liquid to the liquid ejection surface. The cleaning device has: a cleaning liquid film holding part (311) having a cleaning liquid film holding face (311A) on which a liquid film of the cleaning liquid is formed between the liquid ejection surface and itself while approximating to the liquid ejection surface in substantially parallel thereto, and a cleaning liquid supply part (313) for supplying the cleaning liquid between the liquid ejection surface and the cleaning liquid film holding face; a cap (312) which has a cleaning liquid storage tank (314) formed with an opening continuous to the cleaning liquid film holding face, into which the cleaning liquid supplied to the cleaning liquid film holding face is recovered, and which moisture-retains the liquid ejection surface by making the opening approximate to the liquid ejection surface; and a moving device which relatively moves the liquid ejection surface, the cleaning liquid film holding part and the cap. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
