STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD, AND STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE DISPLAY CONTROL APPARATUS AND PROGRAM

[Problem] To reduce an observer's stress by keeping the stereoscopic image from shifting forward excessively when at least a portion of the two radiographs that configure a stereoscopic image is expanded and displayed. [Solution] Imaging condition information, which can specify the distance relationships between a radiograph detector, a subject, and a radiation source during formation of the two radiographs for a stereoscopic display, is acquired. Information is acquired on regions in the two radiographs, which are to be expanded and which correspond to each other. Expanded radiographs, which are expansions of the regions to be expanded, are generated from each of the two radiographs. On the basis of the imaging condition information, mutually corresponding positions in the two radiographs, which correspond to the position of the foremost surface of the subject when viewed from the radiation source, are specified. On the basis of the specified positions, the display positions for the expanded radiographs are determined so that the positions of the foremost surface of the region to be expanded coincide with the positions of the foremost surface of the subject in the stereoscopic display space. The two expanded radiographs are displayed at the determined display positions.
