RECEIVING METHOD AND DEVICE USING COHERENT OPTICAL COMMUNICATION RECEIVING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement dramatic simplification of a light processing part and to dispense with an adjustment mechanism in a coherent optical communication receiving system.

SOLUTION: There is provided a receiving device and method using a coherent optical communication receiving system that implements IQ separation of an optical multi-value modulation signal by digital processing of an electric intermediate frequency band signal (hereinafter referred to as an IF signal). The coherent optical communication receiving system includes: an optical coupler 311 mixing received signal light 314 and local oscillation light 315 differing from the received signal light 314 in optical frequency; a photoelectric conversion part performing photoelectric conversion by inputting the mixed signal light output from the optical coupler 311 into a differential light detector 312 to output the IF signal 316; an analogue-digital conversion part 313 converting the IF signal 316 to a digital IF signal; and a signal processing part 32 performing IQ separation from the digital IF signal.
