<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transmit data to correct the drive timing of each recording element to the recording element in order to correct each recording position of the recording element row where a plurality of recording elements form a line. <P>SOLUTION: A recording head includes: a block counter circuit 50 that counts the correction value according to the block in order to group a plurality of recording elements 56 by the number of specific numbers, and to correct the recording timing of recording element 56 that belongs to each group by the group unit; and an individual counter circuit 48 that counts an individual correction value to correct the recording timing of each recording element in the groups involved according to a relative position of each recording element 56 that belongs in the same group. The serial data of each correction value is developed by data distribution circuit 70 and set to each counter circuit 48 and 50.
