<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of introducing a substituent to the 1-position of azulene in a good yield by a simple reaction. <P>SOLUTION: The process for producing an azulene derivative represented by formula (II) includes: reacting a 1-iodoazulene derivative and 2-6C alkyllithium or 6-10C aryllithium, and reacting the resulting reaction product with an electrophile. In the formula, R represents fluorine, chlorine, or bromine, 1-10C alkyl, 1-10C alkoxy, 2-10C alkenyl, 2-10C alkynyl, 3-10C cycloalkyl, 6-10C aryl, or heteroaryl, n is an integer of 0 to 7, when n is ≥2, respective Rs may be identical or different, provided that when 1-iodoazulene derivative is reacted with ≥2C alkyl lithium, R represents fluorine, chlorine, bromine, 1-3C alkyl or 1-3C alkoxy, and X represents a substituent derived by the electrophile. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
