<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device that can perform stable skew correction, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Clamping pressure changing parts 505a, 505b are controlled based on a signal from paired sensors 502a, 502b for detecting a sheet before a resist roller. The sensors are provided between a plurality of pair of feeding rollers 503A, 503B and paired resist rollers 501, and intended for detecting a skew direction of a sheet S to be fed.
