The present invention relates to a method for warning about the residual quantity of a liquid detergent, and the method comprises the steps of: calculating the total amount of a liquid detergent used by accumulating the amount of the liquid detergent used whenever cleaning is performed; and comparing the total amount of the liquid detergent used with a standard amount, and warning about the residual quantity of the liquid detergent according to the compared result. Thus, by the present invention, a user does not have to frequently check the residual quantity of the liquid detergent and can easily refill the liquid detergent, and further, since the invention does not need a sensor for sensing the residual quantity of the liquid detergent, a manufacturing cost of a washing machine is reduced and it is possible to prevent the user from an electric shock by a current which leaks from a container. |
