The lamp (1) has a discharge bulb (2) with a discharge vessel (3) designed as a flat coil. A plate-like contact carrier (12) i.e. strip, is made of electrical insulative material and connected with the discharge vessel. An electronic operation apparatus (4) operates the discharge bulb. The contact carrier extends in sections over the discharge vessel. Electric contacts (13, 14) i.e. contact pins, of the vessel are arranged at the contact carrier and extend at a distance to end regions of the discharge vessel in a direction of the operation apparatus.
