A parameter setting method for a mobile terminal is provided in the present invention. The method includes: entering presetting parameter modification function interface when receiving a parameter modification instruction inputted by a user; receiving the parameters modified by the user, and storing the parameters in parameter file form; restarting the mobile terminal automatically and entering an initialized state for setting module parameter, and obtaining the parameters in a user-defined parameter file, then implementing the parameters setting. At the same time, the present invention also provides a mobile terminal. The present invention can realize the flexible parameters setting for the mobile terminal, and satisfy the individuation requirement of the user. When the mobile terminal is roaming, the present invention can prompt the user whether the parameters are to be modified, and improve the use flexibility of the mobile terminal.
