TEXTURE ANALYSIS DEVICE, INTRA-PREDICTION MODE DETERMINATION DEVICE, INTRA-PREDICTION DEVICE, AND PROGRAM OF THEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze correlation in an input image for each direction and to use the result of the analysis for intra prediction.

SOLUTION: A texture analysis device 1 comprises: a correlation calculation part 10 which calculates the correlation in the input image with respect to plural directions including plural pairs of a reference direction and an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the reference direction; a correlation ratio calculation part 11 which calculates a correlation ratio of correlation in the reference direction to that in the orthogonal direction for each pair of the reference direction and the orthogonal direction; and a texture direction determination part 12 which determines as a texture direction a reference direction maximizing the calculated correlation value. The intra-prediction mode determination device 2 and the intra prediction devices 3, 4, 4b, and 5 of this invention are each equipped with the texture analysis device 1 of this invention.
