<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness in projection video as well as improving efficiency of light use in a light source device including a plurality of light source sections and a projection type video display device including the light source device. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 4 includes a plurality of light source sections 4A, 4B respectively having light emission bodies and focus members for focusing the light emitted from a light emission body to a focal point and a reflecting body 6 for reflecting the incident light from the light source sections 4A, 4B in the direction of a light modulation element. The reflecting body 6 includes a plurality of mirrors 6A, 6B respectively facing the plurality of light source sections 4A, 4B and arranged on the focal points of the light emitted from the corresponding light source sections. The plurality of mirrors 6A, 6B are arranged so that the positions of the incident light from the corresponding light source section are superposed with each other on an optical axis Z of the light source device when seen from a direction Y which is perpendicular to the optical axis Z of the light source device 4 and the optical axes XA, XB of the plurality of light source sections 4A, 4B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
