<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time for copying a file to a hot folder and improve operability. <P>SOLUTION: A print control apparatus that allows a print device to perform printing via a hot folder monitors whether or not a file has been input to the hot folder. When a file has been input, it is identified whether or not the file is a reference information file indicating an external content file. When it is identified that the file is the reference information file, an external content file indicated by the reference information file is obtained.
