The method involves storing a transmitter list in a memory unit (11) of a control- and/or regulating unit (10). A radio receiver (12) of a motor car radio system is adjusted to a reception frequency assigned to a radio station based on the stored transmitter list. The transmitter list is provided as a favorite list capable of editing by a user, where the control- and/or regulating unit automatically selects free-to-air radio stations from the favorite list. A predefined list of radio stations for inclusion in the favorite list is provided to the user. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vehicle homepage with a user interface (2) a motor car radio system.
