<p>Provided are a defect detection method and a defect detection apparatus capable of stably, efficiently, and inexpensively detecting a defect in a molded article such as boots for constant velocity universal joints. A defect inspection method and a defect inspection apparatus inspect a defect in a molded article provided with a bendable and extendable bellows portion (1c) and made of an elastic material with openings at both axial ends. With opening portions (11, 12) of the molded article hermetically sealed, the molded article is compressed axially inwardly by a compressing means (16) so as to increase the internal pressure of the molded article to a prescribed internal pressure. The compressed state is maintained for a predetermined time by a maintaining means (17). Thereafter, the internal pressure of the molded article is measured by an internal pressure measuring means (21) in the compressed state, and the quality of the molded article is determined on the basis of the measured internal pressure.</p> |
