The invention discloses a method for training sequence allocation and a Radio Network Controller (RNC), Node B and User Equipment (UE) for implementing the method. The method in the RNC of a multiple-carrier Time Division- Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) network comprises configuring a message including information on at least one carrier-specific training sequence shifts, wherein the shifts are different among the multiple carriers. A method for training sequence allocation in a RNC of a Time Division- Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) network with with a number N of carriers K1 i = 1,...,N comprises allocating a different training sequence shift S, for each carrier K1, i = 1,...,N.
