<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security performance, in an electronic key system. <P>SOLUTION: When determining that a vehicle door is unlocked by mechanical collation via a mechanical key 18 or the vehicle door is illegally unlocked, a mode is transferred to a precaution mode. In this mode, an engine is started only when electric collation in an immobilizer system is established. Here, in the immobilizer system, there is no risk of performing illegal communication of using a repeater differently from a key operation free system.
