The invention relates to a method for relaying, by an in-vehicle emergency system (10), a private emergency point (60) of the vehicle to a public emergency point (40) that is handling an emergency of the vehicle in which the in-vehicle emergency system (10) is incorporated, the public emergency point (40) depending on the location of the emergency. The method comprises the steps of receiving a message from a call control node (30) of a mobile communications network in response to an emergency call initiated by the in-vehicle emergency system, the message containing contact information of the public emergency point (40), and transmitting the received contact information of the public emergency point (40) to the private emergency point (60).
