PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device is provided to minimize the difference of optical characteristics of a signal for a left eye and a signal for a right eye when observing a stereoscopic image and to observe the stereoscopic image of high quality without cross-talk. CONSTITUTION: A display device(103) comprises a signal creating area for a left eye and a signal creating area for a right eye. The signal creating area for the left eye and the signal creating area for the right eye respectively create a signal for the left eye and a signal for the right eye in the driving state. A first polarizing plate(104) is arranged in order to receive the signal for the left eye and the signal for the right eye. A filter(105) is arranged in order to receive the signal for the left eye and the signal for the right eye after passing the first polarizing plate. The filter comprises a signal polarizing control area for the left eye and the left eye which includes a phase difference layer.
