GYNOSTEMMA PENTAPHYLLUM EXTRACTS COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING OR PREVENTING INFLAMMATORY DISEASES

PURPOSE: A composition containing Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract is provided to suppress adema, immunocyte proliferation, acute and chronic inflammation, and acute adema. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases contains Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract containing 5.0-10.0 wt% of actigenin as an active ingredient. The inflammatory diseases are arthritis, adema, and immune diseases. A method for preparing the extract comprises: a step of extracting Gynostemma pentaphyllum with 5-9 time weight of water, alcohol, and an alcohol solution; a step of cooling and filtering the extract; a step of concentrating the liquid at reduced pressure and 50-90 Deg.C.; a step of adding alcohol to the concentrate and centrifuging at 700-1,200 rpm.
