PURPOSE: A device for opening/closing a manuscript compression plate and office equipment having the same are provided to cope with utility cases, to be applicable for a large range, and to correct a manuscript compression plate being obliquely tilted in front and rear directions on a contact glass. CONSTITUTION: A device for opening/closing a manuscript compression plate comprises a manuscript pressing plate position adjusting unit(100). The manuscript pressing plate position adjusting unit is composed of a blast hole(431), an adjusting member, and a blast screw. The blast hole is installed in one or both sides of a manuscript compression plate or components of a manuscript compression plate opening/closing device. The adjusting member can adjust a length of a portion being projected toward to a front side in the components of the manuscript compression plate opening/closing device facing to a surface facing a rear side of the manuscript compression plate. The blast plate mounts the manuscript compression plate with the blast hole.
