<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor that can reduce a space of a machine room, and can conduct the inspection of a control device easily. <P>SOLUTION: In a normal operation, a control device 40 is fixed to a frame of a truss 12 in a first arrangement place that is the space inside a turndown part of a tread 32. In an inspecting operation, a worker detaches the tread 32 in the turndown part, takes out the control device 40 from the space in the turndown part, and places it on a platform 52. The worker then connects a connecting terminal 76 of a control cable 75 with a connector 42a of an inspection cable 42, and connects the inspection cable 42 extending from a connecting terminal box 38 with a control cable 75 of the control device 40.
