<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine whether received input is handwriting input or key operation in an information processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A key display unit 25 displays a keyboard on a touch panel display. A pointing input unit 24 receives coordinate input by a touch on the touch panel display. A time measuring unit 26 measures an input time from a starting point of continuously received coordinate input to the ending point thereof. A track size calculation unit 30 calculates a size of an input track from the starting point of continuously received coordinate input to the ending point. A time length calculation unit 32 calculates, as a threshold value, a minimum input time corresponding to the calculated size of the input track on the basis of a corresponding relationship between the size of the input track and a minimum input time in handwriting input.
