<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a drive shaft of a developing unit and a developing roller can be accurately and simply coupled. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a drive part which is installed on the side opposite to a process cartridge across a side plate of the image forming apparatus and rotationally drives the developing unit. The drive part includes a drive force generating part which generates a drive force for rotationally driving the developing unit, a drive part substrate which supports the drive force generating part, the drive shaft which transmits the drive force generated by the drive force generating part to the developing unit, a bracket which is installed between the side plate and the drive part, and a substrate bearing which is installed in the drive part substrate and supports the drive shaft in a radial direction and in a thrust direction. The bracket includes a bearing seat being in the shape of a cylinder centering on the drive shaft, a bracket bearing which is fitted to the inside of the bearing seat and supports the drive shaft in the thrust direction, and an elastic member which is arranged between the bearing seat and the bracket bearing and permits the movement of the drive shaft in the radial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
