<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing structure for a vehicle, capable of achieving original load deformation characteristics of an elastic member without the deformation of the elastic member being blocked by a resin member. <P>SOLUTION: The cross-section shape of a resin box 18 in a load input direction (arrow A direction) is formed into a trapezoidal shape. An outer edge in the vehicle width direction is defined as a short edge section 22 and inner edge in the vehicle width direction facing in parallel to the short edge section 22 is defined as a long edge section 24. At substantially central portions of inclined sections 26, 28 facing each other of the resin box 18, a notch 30 with a substantially V shape in cross section is formed in the vehicle height direction. Accordingly, the buckling direction of the resin box 18 can be identified and a buckling position in the inclined portions 26, 28 can be identified. Thus, buckling deformation and fracture against urethane pad 20 side of the resin box 18 can be prevented and hence the urethane pad 20 can maintain intrinsic load deformation characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
