<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce metallic tone quality caused by a conventional product and burden, such as damage to a reed or a mouthpiece, and to smooth operation required to replace a reed. <P>SOLUTION: By using a leather 4 and a wooden material 5 for a ligature, vibration of the reed is made richer than that of the conventional metallic product, and adjustment of loudness and tone quality can be performed smoothly. Thus, original tone quality of a woodwind instrument is elicited and the mouthpiece is protected from damage caused by friction between the conventional product and the mouthpiece.
