MODELLING OF NETWORKS

A computer implemented method for generating a representation of a network having a plurality of sites. The method comprises generating an array comprising a plurality of cells, and arranging the cells of the array with respect to the sites so that each of the sites is associated with a respective location on the array and so that a predetermined cell of the array corresponds to a predetermined location defined with respect to the network. The method further comprises querying each cell of the array in a predetermined order so as to detect whether each cell is occupied by one or more sites of the network. For each cell that is detected as being occupied, the sites associated with the occupied cell are moved to a cell closer to the predetermined cell if the cell closer to the predetermined cell is detected as being unoccupied.
