PURPOSE: A lithium secondary battery is provided to use ethylmethylpiperidinium (trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide as an electrolyte solution additive, thereby capable of reducing ignitability of the battery and improving performance and reliability of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and electrolyte, and uses ethylmethylpiperidinium (trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ionic solution as an electrolyte solution additive. The added amount of the ethylmethylpiperidinium (trifluoromethanesulfony)imide is 30-50% by volume. The ethylmethylpiperidinium (trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ionic solution is added into LiPF6 organic carbonate solution.
