An inserting system comprises first and second sheetlike item transport guides forming a first sheetlike item transport path for transporting first sheetlike items. Third and fourth sheetlike item transport guides form a second sheetlike item transport path for transporting second sheetlike items. At least a portion of the first and second sheetlike item transport guides and a portion of the third and fourth sheetlike item transport guides are separate. A plate has a first side and an opposite second side, said first side being the portion of the second sheetlike item transport guide and said second side being the portion of the third sheetlike item transport guide. The fourth sheetlike item transport guide is mounted so as to be movable with respect to the third sheetlike item transport guide, and the plate is mounted so as to be movable with respect to the first sheetlike item transport guide. |
