The device collects water as it drains from a central heating radiator 31 as a result of loosening a cap-nut 32 coupling the radiator 31 to a valve 30 and radiator feed pipe 7 after the valve 30 has been closed. It comprises a clamp 2 that is attached to the water feed pipe 7 below the cap-nut 32 to be loosened. The clamp 2 retains an open end of a flexible water container 3 in a position in which it surrounds the cap-nut 32 so that, when the cap-nut 32 is loosened, water drains from the radiator 31 into the container 3.
