PURPOSE: An audio signal processing method and an audio signal processing apparatus thereby are provided to control a gain value according to the detected impedance of a headphone by using a user interface. CONSTITUTION: An audio signal processing apparatus(100) comprises a sensing part(110) and an amplifying part(120). The sensing part measures impedance of a headphone(130). The sensing part controls a gain value which is applied to the input audio signal according to the measured impedance. The amplifying part receives an input audio signal. The amplifying part receives one or more bias voltages corresponding to the gain value outputted from the sensing part. The amplifying part generates an output audio signal by amplifying the input audio signal according to the gain value. The amplifying part supplies the output audio signal to the headphone. A headphone connection part(140) is connected to a headphone plug.
