PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to maintain excellent vertical orientation, to impart excellent texture, to improve sensitivity because of improved photoreactivity, and to prevent luminance difference during operation. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises a polymer selected froma group consisting of a polyamic acid comprising a repeating unit in chemical formula 1, a polyimide comprising a repeating unit in chemical formula 2, and combinations thereof. In chemical formula 1 and 2, X^1 and X^2 are the same or different from each other, and are tetravalent organic group derived from cycloaliphatic acid dianhydrides or aromatic acid dianhydrides, respectively. Y^1 and Y^2 are the same or different from each other, and are divalent organic groups derived from diamines.
