<p>The invention relates to a device for inspecting the content of packaging units (3), which contain at least one specimen of a dosage unit of a drug, comprising a sensor apparatus (6) for receiving and processing light leaving the content of a packaging unit (3) and passing through a transparent wall of the packaging unit (3), and comprising a comparison apparatus (12), which is connected to the sensor apparatus (6) and compares the content of the packaging unit (6) with a content prescribed for the packaging unit. According to the invention, the sensor apparatus (6) comprises apparatuses (7, 8) for determining a reflection spectrum or absorption spectrum characteristic of the content of the packaging unit (3).
