The method involves heating a metallic fiber mat on thixotropic state and forming heated mat into a compact metal structure under pressure. A metal fiber fleece (1) is held on guided platen roller in thixotropic state and is compacted simultaneously under the action of rolling pressure to a homogeneous metal structure.
